How did you get into the precious metal
business?
I got into the precious metal business through observing the need
for recycling of gold while working at my fathers gold watch business. I
quickly noticed that there was a large number of jewelry exchanges, pawn shops,
and jewelry stores in South Florida with the same need of having their scrap
gold recycled. My business mindset began when I created a bicycle racing
components import/export business for my mother at the age of 15. The path to
success hasn’t been an easy one, but luckily I was able to conquer every
problem that came my way.
What inspired you to start the first online b2b
precious metal platform?
When I first began in this business several of my closest friends
doubted my chances to succeed, but I quickly proved them wrong and gain the
respect of my industry competitors. To be honest the ideal of an Online B2B
platform came from the vision of having a simple and easy to use system for my
customers that could maximize their returns. What started as a simple trading
platform has evolved into a highly complex backend that created a simple
solution for our customers to trade. This new way of trading and our accurate
assays allow our customers to receive the highest possible returns on every
trade.
What were some of the major hurtles you had to
deal with during development?
The biggest challenge we encountered in the development phase was
the learning curve we had to maneuver. What began as one vision evolved into
another, forming the new DK Metals. The platform you see operating today
started as something entirely different. The pages and user experience needed
to change as development went forward to create an overall better online
platform.
If there were only 1 message you could relay to
your customers what would it be?
At DK Metals our main objective is to earn your business by earning
your trust. It’s been my personal experience that shortage in assays, hedge
contract pricing, after weight losses, and even before melts is not uncommon in
the precious metal refining industry. There is an extremely small market for a
honest precious metal refinery in all the above categories. With our accurate
assays, great customer service, and new online platform we are able to maximize
your returns regardless of your business size.
What makes DK Metals a better choice than your
competitors?
In this industry it’s all about building a competitive advantage,
and just like mentioned in previous questions, ours is maximizing returns. Our
team is dedicated to providing only the best to our customers, this means:
lower melt loss, higher assays, and higher priced hedge contracts than with our
competition. Our promise carries through even if you don’t have a full size
hedge contract. We have seen the most absurd mistakes happen in our industry
and have taken the necessary steps to prevent them at DK Metals.
What can we expect from DK Metals in the near
future?
DK Metals is all about innovation and we’ve proven that with our new
user experience and platform. We have a few tricks up our sleeves to keep
moving this industry into the future. The plan is to ultimately make the
customer experience simple yet easy.
